IGB-MarabanX RNA Extract Pure is effective for a range of sample sizes. The reagent protects RNA integrity by rapidly inactivating RNases during sample disruption and homogenization. This reagent allows for stepwise precipitation of RNA, DNA, and proteins from a single sample. After homogenization, chloroform is added to separate the mixture into:
- Aqueous phase: RNA is recovered with isopropanol
- Interphase & organic layer: DNA is precipitated with ethanol
- Protein fraction: Isolated from the phenol-ethanol phase using isopropanol
- The resulting RNA, DNA, or protein fractions are then washed to remove impurities and resuspended for immediate use in research workflows.
